My worst mistake

When I was cleaning my school uniform at home with my hands, and I kept the water running. The water was hot, and my uniform was got burned on the sleeves but I didn’t look at the  burned part. I put the uniform on the wire to dry for school, when my mom took the uniform off the wire then she saw that my uniform was burned.When I saw I was angry at myself why I kept the water running. Then I had to buy a new uniform for school.  My dad said to me” that you could have gave the uniform to be washed by the laundry”. Then I said “sorry to dad about my mistake that I made by not listening to him by not cleaning the uniform in the laundry ,and I asked him “Can you take me to the shop to buy a new  uniform  for my school”.I was very pleased that I brought a new uniform for school. Then my mum said that make sure when you wash your uniform at home you use the cold water so that the cloths won't burn. So from now on when I wash my uniform at home I use the cold water for washing

Diwali Food

My family celebrates Diwali festival in Fiji and in New Zealand. We celebrate to mark the triumph of good over evil. It is held in mid-October to mid-November in Fiji, because Indian people follow the lunar calendar. We cook food and sweets for the festival.

We bake sweets like ladoo, lakrimithai, pehra, barfi, kachori, rasgulla, gol gappay, gulab jamun, kheer, payasam, halwa, gigya, and chaat. We cook them for our god Rama, because he returns back from 14 years of Banvash. I cook some foods with my mum like puri, plow, roti, paneer, khichri, bhagi, khari, kufti, and chatni. We start cooking from morning and it is finished at night. When we finish cooking some foods and snacks, we have our lunch.

At lunch time we have some foods like puri and chutney for lunch. The puri is made of flour and the chutney is made of tomato. We put the puri and chutney in different bowls to make sure that we have the correct food we need for lunch. The bowls are big, the lunch is hot with chilli. We had pehra and laado after having our lunch.  Then we went back to bake the snacks. Then we finished cooking and, then we started to pack the snacks.

When we started to pack the snacks we got out some containers, then start to put the snacks in the container. All the containers have different snacks in them, so we wrote the snacks names on the container. After that we went to put them in the kitchen cupboard. The cupboard got filled up with all the snacks and foods. The foods were in the cooking bowls or in the containers. They were very hot to touch. The children were ready to play with the fireworks, and to eat foods and sweets.

We celebrate Diwali every year to mark the triumph of good over evil. My family and I always celebrates Diwali in New Zealand. We follow the lunar calendar, so we don’t get the date wrong and it is held in mid-October to mid-November in Fiji. We cook snacks and food to celebrate Diwali. The food we make for Diwali is from Fiji and India.

Main Tera Hero is my favorite movie, and it is about two girls wanting to marry the same boy but the boy chooses to marry someone else, which is Ileana D'Cruz. The names of the characters in the movie is Varun Dhawan, Ileana D'Cruz, Nargis Fakhri, Arunoday Singh, and Anupam Kher. This movie was released in April 4 2014 in India. This movie is rated PGR and only people who are 12+ years old can watch this movie.  Main Tera Hero is an action comedy film, and it earned 6.4 million when it came out.   The director is David Dhawan, the Music was done by Sajid-Wajid, and it was produced by Shobha Kapoor.

The girl was feeling so happy to see her dog playing the neighbours dog. She was standing by the fence because she wanted to call her dog back home to have his lunch.

The sparkling blue waters and white-sand. The water is cold and the shimmering sun was shining out. The brand new boat is floating on the water, and cruise ships in the horizon are heading to the harbour.

How to play netball

Netball

Students play netball in New Zealand. Students do their training at school or at the netball court. Year seven and eights go to the interschool competition, the year 5 and 6 also play in the interschool competition.

To play netball you need to know the rules. You have to be 3 feet away from the person with the ball. Also you need to stay within the lines that your positions stops at, for example Goal Shoot is only allowed in the shooting third of the court. The only player that is allowed all over the court is the centre player.

In Netball all you need is a ball, net, netball court and a team of seven people. The netball court it is divided into three thirds. The center circle is in the middle of the court and that’s where the player starts. On both ends of the court there are semicircles, that is where the Goalkeeper and Goal Shoot stand, they are two different positions.

Goalkeeper, only plays in the opposition's goal third and in the opposition’s goal circle. Goal Defence, only plays in the opposition's goal third and the centre third. Wing Defence and the wing attack, play in the opposition's goal third (but not the goal circle) and the centre third. The Centre, plays in all three thirds, but not the goal circles. Wing Attack and the Wing Defence, plays in their team's goal third (but not the goal circle) and the centre third. Goal Attack and Defence, play in the team's goal third and the centre third. Goalkeeper and  Goal Shooter, play in their team's goal third, and shoots in the goal circle.

In New Zealand students play netball.Year seven and eights students go interschool netball games, If the school choose the year 5 and 6 can enter the interschool competition. The training for netball are done at the netball court.  They go and play netball in Glen Innes after school.

I remember as if it was yesterday when I was at home and  I was thinking about coming to school on Saturday. I thought about what the day was and the date to come to school. The day was Saturday and the date was 16 August of 2014. So I thought to myself, why am I going to school on a Saturday?  My sister says to me “Why are you getting ready for school in the weekend?”  I think I was thinking it was Friday and I said “Why did I get up for school? I need to sleep some more this morning.

Tai and Naomi did a show about space jump. The characters in the story were Claire, Jonno, Professor Proton and Dr Drivel. The story was about aliens from outer space and Claire. Claire came to earth to know how humans imagine on earth.

Lucky heard his name and barked happily. The lady was right, he was lucky, he knew that!

Georgia beamed as they posed with lucky for the newspaper photo-her and Adam on either side of their beautiful puppy. She knew he'd had an amazing escape. Georgia stroked lucky’s silky golden ears, and smiled at the camera. Just now,she felt like the luckiest girl ever.

Tigers Rewrite the ending

A tiger that eats human is usually hungry,injured,or sick. Tigers that can find enough food usually stay well away from people.

There have been many reports of people walking along jungle trails who come face to face with a tiger. Although this is a scary experience for people,in most cases the tigers will step politely aside into  the forest.

In some tiger territories,people wear masks on the back of their heads to warn tigers away,because they believe a tiger will only attack from behind.

Tigers in the wild,unlike Roly and Sammy,have every reason to be wary of humans. humans could drive the tiger to extinction. But with care and planning,humans may be able to save the tiger.

Ella and Olivia Puppy Trouble

They put Bob’s toys away in a basket for the next time. Ella fills up his food bowl with dry biscuits.Olivia plums up the cushion  on Bob’s bed.The girls are very tired ,and so is Bob after his big adventure.He gives Ella and Olivia a little lick,then jumps up on his bed.Soon he is fast asleep,dreaming of ugg  boots and toast and jam.

I chose Lorde because she is a famous singer in New Zealand, she has lots of certificates and awards for being the best singer in New Zealand. I think that makes her the best singer on the New Zealand thirty dollar note.

She is a famous singer in New Zealand and people love her songs.

People of New Zealand like her to be on the thirty dollar note because people want her to be the famous lady in New Zealand.

She has won lots of awards for the New Zealand music awards. I would like it if she was on the thirty dollar note. This 17-year-old singer-songwriter was one of the big winners at last weekend's Grammy Awards, winning Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single Royals. I chose Lorde because I think she is the one who belongs on the thirty dollar note so she can be famous in New Zealand. She is a beautiful person and she deserves to be on the thirty dollar note.

My Nana's Place

My Nana's place

My favorite place is my Nana’s house. I like to go there to spend time and have fun with my Nana. They live in Papatoetoe and their house number is 61. I like to go there every weekend. We like to play, watch TV series and to eat the delicious food she makes. We go there in my uncle’s car.

The first thing I like to do at my nana’s house is to play soccer with my cousin. I like to play catch with my nana and my two sisters. When we are playing soccer my nana makes drinks for us when we get tired and thirsty.

Then I like to make a cupcakes with my nana and to make some lovely pizza too. For the first we need the recipe to make cupcakes. We need the ingredients for the cupcakes and pizza. When we finish making our food, we eat with my two sisters, cousin and Nana.

Also I like to watch Apna television. On Apna television I like to watch Ram milaayi jodi, Yahan main ghar ghar kheli, Kasamh se, Qabool hai and Pavitra rishta. I enjoy watching all these series on Apna television. I like to watch the series until ten-thirty at night with my Nana and my cousin.

My Nana’s house is my favorite place. I like to have fun and spend time with my Nana. My nana lives in Papatoetoe also they live in the street called Pembroke Street and the house number is 61. In the weekend I like to go there. She makes some delicious food, plays games and watches TV with us. My uncle takes us to my Nana’s house in his car.

During the holidays we got set a challenge, to read three novels. Rooms six and nine had to read the three novels over the holidays. The goal was to read novels to improve our reading results.

In the holidays I read the book, Ella and Olivia: New Girl. I wanted to make a new cover for the book on the new girl, so I made a very beautiful cover for my activity because the original cover looked a little bit boring.

The next 3 days I went to my uncle’s farm.This farm is in Hamilton and I wanted to do the activity on rewriting the ending. So I rewrote the ending on a farm for my activity because my uncle’s farm was looking gorgeous.

Then the last week before school, I read a book on Ella and Olivia: Cupcake catastrophe. This book is about cupcakes and I wanted to make some cupcakes. Once I made some I then wrote the recipe I used for the cupcakes. Antoher reason why I made cupcakes was because it was my uncle’s birthday.

Next we did the colouring and it about an rat and octopus.

Finally we did a pacific island dress with Mama piri

and Tau and we wear it to dance.
