My best memories of 2013
Hi my name is Akansha and I am a year seven student at Panmure Bridge School.I live in Panmure near the basin, I live beside my cousin’s house.
Production
This year our production was in term 3 towards the end of the year. We started practicing our production dance from term 3, week 2. We had to wear a traditional costume that maori people wear when performing the haka.
3C Church party
We have a 3C Church party at school this term. We had ice cream, there was a bouncy castle, a sausage sizzle, boxing ,face painting, makeup for mothers, hand massages, lollies, prizes and performances by music groups.
Water care
We learnt about water care with Sally this term 4 ,we learnt a lot of new and interesting things about water. We learnt of ways to help take care of the worlds water supply and heaps of interesting facts. With did a fun activity with Sally where she gave us some samples of water to check for chemicals. We had to check the chemicals and give our best answer for what we thought it could be.
Maths and Art
This term we combined maths and art together. We used our maths skills to create masterpieces. First we needed to draw 5 designs for Mrs Kirkpatrick, once she approved we traced our designs on to 9 pieces of paper that were marked 12 by 12. Then we coloured three designs using pastel, three designs using crayon and lastly three using dye. The last three we painted. After each design had been coloured, we put all 9 together on a black piece of black paper and placed them in a row to complete our artwork.
Tech
At Panmure bridge, we go to teach from when we’re year 7 & 8, we go every friday. First we learnt about technology studies with Mrs Anderson. We learnt how to take photos and edit them using colouring docs. I liked going to tech with Mrs Anderson, because she is very nice. Secondly we did work wood with Mr Grandy. We used paster to make nine pendants that we could give to someone who was special to us.
Lastly at tech we did graphics with Mr Noble. We made some designs using lettering, we also made ourselves a take away box and put the name of my shop and my ingredients on it. We learnt how to do a lot of things that we had never done before. We sat a test that told us what we were able to finish and what we couldn’t manage to finish.
I really liked working with new teachers this year because I’ve learnt something new from each of them. They have been every helpful. I learnt that how to use a computer. These memories have made my school life at Panmure Bridge eventful, I can’t wait for next year until I am a year 8 and have many more wonderful memories to come.
